Luanne's Biography

intro

I am a practicing Massage Therapist. For over 15 years I have been working on people and learning about the human body and its ability to heal itself. I attended two schools to learn about this amazing profession: Utah College of Massage Therapy and Myotherapy College of Utah. Additionally, I have been taking classes and getting worked on weekly through the years to perfect this gift and profession. I grew up in a home wherein I was the person in the family everyone came to when their body hurt for one reason or another. I was told at a young age I had a gift, and it follows that I was the favorite person to sit by in High School because I would always work on them.

babies benefit from massage

I had many opportunities to learn about people's bodies by working on others. I had the privilege to work on children who are days old and they have taught me so much! One such visit a child, who was a week old, was still not going #2 and was in pain all the time. His doctor was out of town for another week and the parents were desperate to try anything. His belly was expanding and he was obviously hurting. All I had to do was massage his tummy lightly and move his legs up to his chest and balance him out energetically so he was not so scared and instantly, while yet on the table, he was able to let out some gas and go #2. Pretty exciting actually! He was out of pain and no more problems.

massage can improve behavior

Another time a mother came to me with a child who was very sensitive to everything. She had always been a sweet caring child and one day, like a switch got flipped, she became very angry and volatile to herself and others. She was throwing things and yelling all the time and ordering people around. I put her on the table and talked to her while working on her amazingly tight back and asked her what has been going on and why she was so angry. She vented to me about all kinds of things and then we talked about some strategies of when she starts feeling that way what she can do. Most of all we talked about her body and what it has been doing when she feels other people's stuff and how she is to direct that energy so it does not negatively affect her. As I worked on her body I showed her how to direct energy so it keeps moving through her system and when she gets angry what she is to do. The most amazing thing happened; her energy changed and just after one session her mom said she was the nice sweet girl she always had been, she was back and all was well. It took a few more sessions to teach her how to train her body to keep the energy aligned and now I only see her for occasional detoxifying visits. Working with kids I find to be so fulfilling because you can catch the problems that are created at the source and help them trough it while they still have the drive and the desire to change.

massage and energy

I do work with energy a lot! I never used to believe in it and now I have changed my opinion after my body was breaking down from doing this kind of work and the most amazing thing started happening! I was feeling what others were feeling as they lay there on my table! I knew what was going on and told them about it. Kind of freaked them out too! Yet feeling everyone's pain was very hard on my body and I knew I was still supposed to do this kind of work. I went back to school and in my second school I learned all about it energy work; I learned how to direct my energy and how to teach my clients to direct theirs. So yes, working on the body is a very hard and yet it's an amazing and rewarding job to teach others.

a balanced body

I have worked on numerous adults and helped them balance energetically and physically by working out their muscular pains and structurally putting their body back to where it should be for optimum use and by doing both of those things combined allows others to emotionally get balanced as well. I find helping others so very rewarding and by so doing get taught numerous things about myself and how to better help others.

reducing stress in a relationship

I will use my own life as a example for a moment. My husband and I were not getting along very well from his stress level and mine we were emotionally a wreck every day. I started getting worked on every week instead of once a month and it all changed. By me simply taking my own stress out of the picture we got along better and started moving forward in our relationship. It was a very exciting time! We grew to be such great friends as well as being partners. Sadly to say it did not work ultimately because as his stress level got to be so high there was nothing more I could do to help us and it was up to him to choose to get worked on and relieve some of his stress so we could work together and become closer. Sadly to say he ultimately refused and after a time of working so hard on our relationship we just grew too far apart and we wanted different things in life so we had to get a divorce to allow ourselves to be ourselves again. Yet it does not take away from how it really did help our relationship even when there is only one person working on themselves to balance their body.

ebbing the tide of disease

In my life of learning to help myself and others I have had the privilege to work on cancer patients get rid of their pain and help fibromyalgia patients as well. Additionally, I covered the range of men, women, children of all ages getting them balanced and helping their lives be so much more what we want to say is normal and this helps every aspect of our lives. So to me I believe massage is a need for everyone's body to get balanced occasionally or more often if there are things going wrong or at least out of sync.

summary

I have a unique perspective on people's health and well being and how their body reacts to stress and toxins. Bringing back peoples vitality, health and improving their overall well being is my primary goal. I love doing this kind of work! Yes it may be hard yet it is so rewarding.
